Should we add more features on more platforms, or better features on one platform? Should we capture the complete user’s workflow, or excel at just one piece? These questions are core, and no one but you can answer them.
For most startups, advice means limited experience and over generalizations. So when I spoke at Business of Software last year, I focused only on what we’ve learned to be true in our journey from 0 to (then) 8,000 customers, as well as the lessons invariant across many companies, rather than extracting from a data point of one.
